Passed away on June 06, 2018
Ruthie Mae Vinson, of Savannah, GA transitioned on Wednesday, June 6th, 2018 at the age of 73 surrounded by her loving children at Hospice Savannah.
Ruthie Mae Vinson was born May 1st, 1945 in Statesboro, GA to her parents Marie E. Williams of Savannah, GA and Miller Venson, Jr. of Statesboro, GA, who both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sisters; Alma Rita Venson, Rosa Lee Venson, and Juanita Prichard, and one brother; Bennie Venson.
She leaves as her legacy three children, Marguerite Vinson (Savannah, GA), Wanda (Leonard) Duzant (Queens, NY),and Melvin (Tabitha) Holloway (Concord, NC). She will be lovingly remembered by four brothers; Louis (Mary) Venson and Willie Williams, both of Savannah, GA, Ronnie Venson and Ricky Venson, of Statesboro, GA; four sisters, Lois Mercer of Savannah, GA and Connie Moody, Bessie Knight, and Suzzanne Venson, all of Statesboro, GA.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved 14 grandchildren: Tracy (Tonya) Vinson-Blander, Lee, Marlon, Martrese, Romiesha, Mercedez, Leonard Jr., Corey, Sawanda, Alicia, Maurice, Adaiah, Madisyn, and Makyah, and one great-grandchild, Jaiden. She will forever be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
A celebration of Ruthie Mae Vinson’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, June 9th, 2018 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Home located at 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Ruthie Mae Vinson to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
